Friday was good. I talked to my mother in the morning. She interrupted me while I was arranging my Christmas cards around my anti-Christmas tree. All of her in-laws in Florida turned up positive for Covid last week, so Christmas dinner was cancelled. In a way, I feel bad for her. She worked in healthcare for half my life, and hates how selfish and anti-science/medicine everyone is down there. On the other hand, her mother-in-law most likely brought it home from the regularly scheduled luncheon that both she AND my mother do with a group of ladies. That’s just asking for it.
I texted my family to wish them a merry Christmas, then I had a quick chat with Shawshank and his family. There’s not much to say about a 4 minute video call. However, there are few things I dislike more than those holiday calls where I’m passed around from person to person. Shawshank knows to keep things quick.
I spent the rest of the day doing a long workout. I played a little bit of Albion, I did my makeup, and chatted with Shawshank. It was just another Friday.
BUT
It was also Friday with delicious dinner. I must have hit the restaurant’s website at just the wrong time. When I first loaded it, they were offering a Christmas buffet. Literally 30 minutes later, that link was replaced with the same special they offered at Thanksgiving. No buffet, but I still had a fabulous dinner of a mango seafood curry and naan, finished with a dessert of rasmalai.
Once I came home, Shawshank gave me an hour or so to play with my game before we had our longer nightly call. I gave the cats a big box and some catnip, and pointed the camera at them for a little while.
Today will be my chore day. I have some cleaning to do, since there’s a showing tomorrow morning. The earlier I start that bullshit, the earlier I can start the second part of my weekend plan:
NOTHING.
Yeah I kept control of the iPad and moved you a long as fast as possible. Video calls for family are a nuisance, by law they should be short. As short as possible. Kisses
