A Very Merry Weekend

A Very Merry Weekend

Good morning, my darlings. It’s another gray day over here. On the plus side, the weather is supposed to be above freezing for most of the day. Unfortunately, there’s a slight chance of rain, which means more melting and then refreezing overnight. Tomorrow is the first day of winter.

I was a busy little beaver yesterday. NewTech‘s car had a flat and she couldn’t make it. I did my makeup in record time, then ran around the house to tidy everything before I left. This included last minute litter box duty, moving the laundry, dishes, etc. The first house showing of the day was at 10am, so I had to do as much as I could with a very limited time. I had a good shift with StressedRPh; she brought in presents for people. I have a Christmas card. I’m not opening it yet, because I feel like it will make me cry.

After work, I had an adventure.

Before work, I placed an order with the closest legal weed dispensary, Nova Farms. The shop is only taking online orders so there’s no milling about inside. The place was absolutely packed, and I waited 15 minutes in the queue before I was allowed inside. I was in line longer than I was inside the building. But I left with a couple of treats for myself for Christmas.

I haven’t opened them yet.

From Nova, I went to the giant Indian grocery. For about $20, I left with a big bucket of dates, some naan, a package of candied ginger, and some pre-made curries. I was saddened to discover they didn’t have the snack bar set up, but it’s understandable. Maybe self-serve samosas in the age of pandemic aren’t the best idea. Either way, fresh naan makes up for the lack of deep fried goodies.

After the grocery, I splurged on dinner: a poke bowl from Pokemoto. Chicken, tofu, and shrimp, some brown rice, and I was a happy chicky for the rest of the night. By the time I made it home, it was almost dinner time. I finished the night with a soak in the tub for an hour, and a SNL date with Shawshank.

Today, I don’t have a lot to do. We have three more scheduled showings, one in the morning and two later in the afternoon. I plan to bake a cake for work this afternoon. Baking makes the house smell homey.

Please buy my house so I can leave here.
