Oh, look! Wednesday is here! Good morning, friends! I hope the day is treating you well so far.
In Shawshank news, he was finally able to contact one of the airlines about his predicament. They confirmed he has enough ID to board domestic flights. That’s one less major stress to worry about. His next step is to determine when they’ll release him from quarantine and buy his ticket out of Montreal.
Yesterday’s shift was easy enough, but it was still the type of day that couldn’t be over soon enough. There were a couple of annoying patients, but they weren’t the “amusingly annoying” that we tend to deal with. There were not one but THREE people who told us to remove their meds from the automatic refill system at some point in the past, and but were mad because the computer didn’t refill them. For the most part, however, I was upset because I couldn’t help Shawshank from here, and I was anxious about the fact he faced temporary homelessness. There’s still some uncertainty about hours. The real kicker was when my store manager walked through the breakroom while I was on my lunch break and asked “what’s happening with you and ‘oh Canada’?” This was especially annoying. Only two people outside the pharmacy knew about Shawshank‘s situation. Even then, they don’t know everything, so the gossip is especially annoying.
Shawshank told me to do a workout and put myself in a better headspace when I got home. The quick workout helped me feel better for the rest of the night. Unfortunately, I had a really bad, nightmare-filled sleep. I haven’t had anything that bad in a while, and I have the feeling it will affect my mindset for the rest of the day.
Today’s shift is with StressedRPh. Not only that, but it’s a late shift for me. The weather is supposed to turn really muggy as the day goes on, and maybe that will keep people out of the store. The less people we deal with, the smoother the shift will go. And the smoother the shift goes, the better I’ll feel when I come home tonight.
And tonight will involve a giant grilled cheese.
