Sweatshopping

Happy Wednesday, internet. I woke up after the alarm, but before Shawshank‘s departure. The bed was warm. We’re at that awful point where it’s too cool to go without the big blankets when we go to bed, but the mornings are warming up quickly. I decided if I was going to mindlessly scroll the internet, I would do it from a larger screen. At least I can multitask on the laptop.

Yesterday’s weather looked promising in the morning. Sadly, the clouds began rolling in around lunchtime. The temps dropped quickly without the sun. Feeling optimistic, I brought everything outside for spin time, only to immediately pack up and go back inside. I knew once I started spinning, shit would be just a bit too chilly for my slightly-sweaty ass. Inside, I’m annoyed because I wanted to go outside, and it had been warm 15 minutes earlier. I bitterly played another round of Just Dance, then moved on to destroying the living room coming up with eye-pleasing color combinations of fabrics.

Rather than attempt to keep track of cuff and waistband sets for 10 pairs of pants, I’m keeping it simpler. Mind you, that’s not to say I didn’t try, but I quickly decided it wasn’t a good idea. I scaled the operation back a bit, and only cut and organized four sets. Once I pinned the lot of them, I cut and pinned the beginnings of another pair. Between the failed attempt at outdoor spin time and the sorting/cutting/pinning, I was out of spoons required to actually sew any of that shit.

Shawshank came home with mail for his parents. He thought one piece might’ve been important, so we met up with his mother at the thrift shop. The two of us both discovered the $0.50 fabric bin, where I found a bunch of great shit. Between the bin and the bedding rack, I spent $4 and left with a shitload of fabric. I’ve already called dibs on the faux-patchwork schoolhouse monstrosity, and I have a good idea of what I want to do with the polka dot print. While it wasn’t an intentional choice, I really like the way the two florals work together.

Today’s probably going to be similar to yesterday. The forecast predicts we’ll have clouds all day with a possibility of rain, so I don’t think I’ll be outside at all.
