Good morning, world. The sun is out once again, but that’s the only positive about this morning. I came out of the bedroom around 7am to find this note from Shawshank:
Spoiler alert: I did not sleep well. Instead of sleeping well, I woke up around 2am with Chaucer snuggled against my chest and Pippin nestled in my crotch. Behind me, Shawshank sealed off any escape in the other direction. I eventually untangled and spun myself around and half-slept until Shawshank‘s alarm went off at 4:30. That sent everyone but me out of bed, so I made like a princess starfish and took over the entire bed. I didn’t have a proper sleep, but more half-sleep is better than no sleep.
Yesterday was ok. I made a point to play some Just Dance in the morning. Once again, I’m making a point to mix shit up. I keep skipping random things from the 2023 release and telling myself it’s because I don’t know any of these songs. At the same time, two months ago I didn’t know half the songs on the 2024 release, either. Lately, my “daily curated” playlist has had a few songs from each release, which has made a good start. Ubisoft released the second half of the latest season yesterday, and I just read they dropped another batch of songs overnight.
I guess I’ll be dancing this morning. I’m also planning to do more sewing today, I think. If I sew, I’ll stream it, because I totally count it as small business promo type shit. Shawshank will be home in the afternoon, and I’m assuming I’ll probably nap with Chaucer on the couch. Tomorrow is a holiday and Shawshank has the day off, so my goal for tonight is a hot bubble bath after dinner.
