pins

Hello, world, it’s me again. The prairies are warm this morning, all sunshine and blue skies. We’re already sitting at 72掳馃 and I absolutely wasn’t expecting it when I went outside this morning. I’ve been awake since before 6am. Chaucer gave me kisses and I watched cute cat videos.

Yesterday was productive and fun. I worked on my latest pair of leggy pants, which I made from a giant sheer curtain panel. They turned out almost exactly how they should have. They’re very sheer, but I fucked up and twisted the waistband when I sewed it up. If I keep any for myself, they are absolutely not for trips off the property.

After lunch, we took a walk up to the town museum. It’s the perfect place for me to hang out, all full of old treasures. It reminded me of how I remember the museum at Roger Williams Park was when I was a kid. There’s no comparison between the two museums, as one is a massive stone mansion and the other is wedged between the alley and a hair salon in a “blink and you’ll miss it” little building. But 40 years ago, Roger Williams felt the same to me: an imperfect, random jumble of rooms full of stuff and weird taxidermy.

We spent a lot of time in the living room. Shawshank played some Tears of The Kingdom, then put on a couple of Mission Impossible movies. I started work on a second pair of pants, this time using a chocolate brown taffeta with some gold embossed swirly-dotty bits. I imagine they will be noisy as fuck when I finish them.

You know what else I need to finish? SETTING UP THE FUCKING SHOP.

I went outside after dark. It’s not a lot of spin time, but it’s enough sometimes. Shawshank handled setting up a live stream, recorded a couple of videos, and took some pics for me. I hit myself in the face with one of my poi. I’m not sure how much the camera caught.

We don’t have anything going on today. We’re having brunch today because we’re going into town tomorrow. Shawshank has a load of laundry in the wash, and it’s not full of sheets this time.
