Hello, world, it’s me again. The sun is up and the skies are clear; cool air filled with the mellow sounds of the garbage truck making its way around TinyTown. The day has begun.
We lazed around yesterday. Shawshank watched me play Assassin Creed II for most of the day. Most of the time, I just ran around Florence and the villa. Don’t give me that linear quest line bullshit, I fucking know you want me to go meet La Volpe, and I will. Eventually. But first, I’m going to spend four hours finding treasure chests and opening up the map and picking people’s pockets.
I put the controller down pretty much right after starting the new quest. By then, I was worked up and frustrated. Of all the quest/task types the typical Assassin’s Creed game forces you into, I have the most trouble with chases. After the first failed attempt, every subsequent try failed when I ran out of time within sight of the goal line. I handed the controller to Shawshank after my fourth attempt.
With Shawshank occupied and dinner prep still an hour off, I decided to cut some fabric for more genie pants. Initially, I only planned to cut and pin pieces, which would mean less prep work to do when I actually sat down to sew on another day. I must have been absolutely traumatized by making the last pants. I was expecting the worst; however, this pattern took waaaaaay less time to cut and prep. Since pinning things was so quick, I decided maybe I’ll just do the side seams. By dinner, I had the basic shape done, then installed the elastic in the waist and ankle cuffs after dinner. I think I spent more time ironing the waistband than any other prep I did for it. I’m pretty sure if I had a quiet afternoon and all the supplies, I could whip up another pair in about an hour.
Shawshank is back to work today. He has a short week because he wants to play the new game on Friday. Since I decided to make pants yesterday instead of finishing my first project, I plan to work on my jacket today. Like Shawshank said, I’ll finish it just in time to not need it. I’d like to play online a bit, I need some of that attention whore dopamine.
