Sum’things

It’s just another Monday. I’m not tired, but I don’t feel rested. It’s the worst feeling, like everything is a normal speed but I’m slowed down. I’ll have to treat myself like a toddler, and keep busy all day so I’m actually tired by the time bedtime rolls around.

I shouldn’t have much trouble exhausting myself today, or for the rest of this week. The weather forecast is filled with sunshine. I can fit in a couple of morning workouts under the tree. After lunch, maybe some practice with the staff and the poi.

We drove to the outlets in Foley, Alabama yesterday. Writing it like that, I make it sound like it was some epic journey across the state line. In actuality, it’s about 30 minutes away. In Rhode Island terms, that’s a road trip. I’m still adjusting to the fact that nearly EVERYTHING here is at least 15-20 minutes away. I left an area where I had a crazy amount of places to eat all around me. Here, I have a pho place, Sonic, and Waffle House. Ordering from Uber Eats would be useless, as almost everything is at least an hour delivery time.

This is an absolutely ridiculous thing to complain about. Considering where I’m trying to go, where Shawshank and his family regularly make a two hour drive for groceries, I should consider myself lucky to even have these options for the time being.

But yeah… Foley. It’s not a bad outlet. It feels bigger than the Wrentham outlets. However, I think that’s mostly because of its terrible layout. At the same time, the fact that you almost need to drive to each store means you’re not mindlessly wandering into each place and spending money everywhere. I only went to Old Navy and bought some jeans.

I spent a couple of hours outside last night. It’s a nice way to spend some time.

It’s nice to be able to let go. In the dark, I don’t worry about what I look like.
