Happy Humpday, we’ve reached the midpoint of the week. The world is dark, the coffee is tasty. Shit’s cold outside. While the current temp is still below zero (in both scales), it’s warmer than it was yesterday. The Hot Mess, obnoxious ENDLESS SUMMER tags taunting us, warms up in the drive for more time than it takes Shawshank to drive to work.
Yesterday was one of Shawshank‘s “long” days. In reality, it’s no longer than his other shifts. However, unlike his opening shifts, it feels to me because he’s already left the house by the time I get out of bed. By the time I’ve reached my human form, he’s halfway through his shift. I washed my makeup brushes and streamed/chatted while I played No Man’s Sky for a couple of hours. Shawshank came home a couple of hours early because no one wanted to leave their houses and the store was dead.
I spent most of the afternoon editing the photos I took on Monday. By dinner time I’d finished the basic edits. I started watermarking things, but that’s more tedious. I’ll take 100+ pics in a shoot, then whittle it down to about half of that during the editing process. There’s always going to be shots with straps out of place or twisted, or a wonky face. At the same time, I almost always end up making 2-4 different versions of most pics to give them different looks, because it’s easy extra content. Now, instead of 50-ish pics, I’ve got at least 100+ again that need watermarks.
And do they want to save to the right places? Fuck no. That would make things too easy. Instead, I feel like half the watermarked things are saved in the directory I want them in, while the other half is saving in the originating one. This wouldn’t be an issue if I could actually see the watermarks in the thumbnails when I open the file.
At least I can edit pics with clothes on.
I stayed up and played a bit of “Disco Elysium” after Shawshank went to bed. I started off by talking to a few people I wanted to “circle back and touch base” with. When I finished, I moved on and started exploring the new area I recently unlocked. I headed off to bed around midnight in an effort to sleep in a bit this morning.
And now here we are.
Shawshank has an early shift today. I’m going to do the human things and start uploading things to the Spank Bank.
