The weekend was wet in ways that would scare Ben Shapiro.

Good morning, world. Yesterday’s thunderstorms continued into the evening and overnight. This morning is gray and wet. I’m not sure what the rest of the day holds, because I haven’t paid any attention to the weather reports on tv. Unless it clears up, I’ll be holed up in the house most of the day.

We ended up staying home last night. Brian’s parents returned from a weekend camping trip yesterday afternoon, and they’re going back out on the road in another direction this morning. Fortunately for us, they decided they wanted at least one day of peace between trips. They called to wish Mom an early “happy birthday”.

Unfortunately, because of the rain, the three of us were trapped in the house together. Brian’s typical modus operandi is to put the tv on HGTV or DIY Network at around 11am, then fall asleep with the remote. He’ll usually wake up once or twice, watch some more of whatever bullshit episode of House Hunters International or Mold in the Sheetrock or SURPRISE TERMITES! is on for the umpteenth time since my arrival last year.

You laugh. It’s true.

Whatever he had on, something like Feature Wall Dust Magnets, was an episode I’ve seen no less than four times at this point. I waited until he fell asleep before taking the remote. I put on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel for Mom to check out. She loved it and binged about four episodes before getting up to make dinner. Once Brian regained control of the remote, it was back to a marathon of Inefficient Home Demo.

I picked up my Switch and played Hades for the rest of the night. Eventually I’ll beat it. I think I’ve gotten close three times, but I’ve also gleaned enough non-spoilery info about the game to know the end might not be what I expect.

The rest of the day looks like I can expect some more rain. I’m going out to buy Mom’s birthday present before lunch, then maybe grab some lunch. Is there anything else I need to do today?
