Hello, friends. It’s Tuesday, it’s been raining for three days, and I’m awake. What more could I ask for?
My trip to the register the truck turned into two trips. I joined the registration queue, because I was REGISTERING THE TRUCK, and that just fucking makes sense, right? It turned out new registrations from out of state are handled by the title services. I showed up, happy with my <5 minute wait time. The dude was nice about it, and moved me to the right kind. He “credited” me for the number of people who were queued before me in the registration line. Unfortunately, my wait time became a minimum of 2 hours.
I went home and had lunch. When an update said I had about an hour, I took off. I went to the pot shop and saw a positively gigantic joint.
Megajoint? Giganjoint? Nay, that’s GIGANJA.
When I arrived at the city offices for the second time, my estimated wait was about 25 minutes. I had more than enough time to lend my screwdriver to a guy trying to unscrew his plates with a coin. I waited in the truck for him to bring it back. He thanked me and said I was the sexiest woman he’d seen all day.
On one hand, yay for compliments. On the other hand, my dude, this is the Florida DMV, and the bar is not high.
But, the last of the major things is handled. For all intents and purposes, I’m officially FLORIDA WOMAN. Mom offered to send me the registration paperwork when it’s renewed.
Things northward are easing up. I no longer need to quarantine when I cross the border. This is a good thing. Shawshank is sending me copies of stuff proving he’s a Canadian citizen. I’ll probably have to order a copy of our marriage certificate. I can’t find the folder that held all of that sort of paperwork. Once I have all those ducks in a row, I’ll pick a date to head out.
Mom, ever the weather optimist, has a load of laundry going. It’s not raining right now, but it’s not far off. She was huddling out of the rain and smoking her cigarette when I came out of my room this morning. Let’s hope this break is enough to dry things out before today’s afternoon storms come in. The sun is peeking out.
