so many pins

so many pins

Howdy, y’all. It’s a cloudy Wednesday, and there’s a pretty steady breeze. At the moment, however, it’s not raining, and I have the backdoor open for Pippin. I don’t know why I should give her anything special this morning. No sooner had Shawshank left the house when she instigated something with Chaucer.

As planned, I played Just Dance with the new controller strap. My first discovery was the bracket will only hold the standard Joy-Con. I can’t use the random third party ones I use when I play, they’re more ergonomically designed, but too fat to sit properly in the bracket. I’m sure I could jam them in there, but not without stressing the controller slots. That’s purely a “me” issue. I only used those controllers because I’m terrified of hurling the official ones across The Flat. Bracket aside, the whole setup is pretty good. The strap is a good size and easily adjusts to fit even my tiny wrists. I love not having to hold the Joy-Con and dealing with sweaty hands. I’m still trying to figure out the best way to position the controller for the most comfort and accuracy, but I’m wicked satisfied with it overall.

Gaming finished, I was productive, and spent most of the afternoon sewing. My first task was installing waists and ankle cuffs on three pairs of pants. When I finished, I moved on to gathering a waistline so it would fit inside the waistband properly. Then, while I still had thread on the bobbin, I zipped up the sides of the Thomas & Friends pair. Finished, I moved the whole operation to the floor, where I could spread out to pin things once again.

I think with everything pinned right now, there’s four pairs in the final stages of sewing. I won’t attempt to think about the others in progress, because there’s too many. I’m not working on them right now. I don’t want to deal with keeping track of cuffs and waistbands for 10+ pairs of pants. I’d go nuts.

Unfortunately, it looks like the weather is going to suck for flow today. I’ll play Just Dance once I get human, eat lunch, and figure out my shit from there.
