Snuggles are good.

Snuggles are good.

It’s easy to tell when Fall is here: Chaucer snuggles. Chaucer doesn’t snuggle in bed, he prefers to stay down by your feet. However, it must have been chilly overnight, as I woke up with him curled up against me.

I woke up this morning, came downstairs, and closed several windows. I’m cold, but the rest of the week is supposed to be pretty warm. Right now, I’m in full-on stubborn mode: I’ll close the windows, but I won’t turn the heat on just yet.

Yesterday, I had barely crawled out of bed when StressedRPh texted to ask if I could cover NewTech‘s shift. NewTech’s car wouldn’t start. Fine, whatever. Can I get in for 10 am, though? I’d like to actually wake up. StressedRPh and I had actually been joking about NewTech not coming in last week. I think we jinxed ourselves. An extra four hours is good, and it was a shift with Matryoshka, so it was even better.

The highlight of the week was how excited she was when my phone rang. Ever want to see a matronly little Russian woman squeal with delight? My phone ringtone is Korobeiniki – the Tetris theme.

I also managed to sell a small antique chest of drawers that was in the basement. The woman who bought it absolutely loved it. She’s promised to refinish it with care. I hope she sends me pictures of it when it’s finished.

The rest of the day was pretty boring. I bought some hair dye, and did a load of dishes. After stuffing myself full of spicy shrimp and rice, I spent an hour or so in the backyard with the poi.

Today is more cleaning. I’m supposed to work out, but my allergies are ridiculous this morning and I can’t stop blowing my nose. It’s laundry day, and there’s some dishes to do.

Once the tea is finished, I’ll bleach out my hair. I texted Shawshank from the beauty supply store asking what color blue. “Light blue or dark blue?” I texted. “Or I can go full Billie Eilish.”

The decision is still out on what color I do.
