Slow Weekend

Slow Weekend

Happy Saturday! So far, I haven’t received a phone call or text asking me to cover for NewTech. StressedRPh texted the new guy last night. She’d texted NewTech to ask if she planned to show up for today’s shift. I’ll believe it at 9am, when I haven’t been called in.

Mal just spent 10 minutes crying in the dining room and kitchen. He only stopped when I managed to convince him that my lap was amazing and he should come sit with me. Now I’m covered in cat fur, with watery eyes, but he’s quiet.

It’s been a long week. The calls about Covid-19 vaccines started yesterday morning. The store manager came into the pharmacy last night and said that since I won’t be there, DayTech will be in charge of keeping track of vaccine inventory, when/if it comes in. I’m glad I won’t be there to deal with it. However, I wouldn’t complain if the vaccines were there for us before my last day.

There’s only about 12 more shifts for me there. Some of the patients seem so genuinely upset that I won’t be there. I fully expect that someone will want to hug me and I know I’m going to cry. I bought waterproof mascara. There’s a trade off to telling everyone goodbye, and that’s the actual goodbye.

I came home last night, waited 20 minutes for my dinner to arrive, and watched an episode of Utopia on Amazon. Shawshank and I chatted for a while, then I pretty much crashed. My bed was snuggly and warm and I’m under literally about 30 lbs of blankets. I vaguely remember a dream about having purple earwax.

Today, it’s just a regular Saturday. It’s foggy, so everything is super gloomy right now. There’s two house showings this morning around lunchtime. I’d love if one of these showings actually panned out into something serious. I’ll load the washer before I leave, then go out and do some grocery shopping while they come through. I’ll grab a coffee before I come home, then bleach out my hair.

Tonight, my only plan is a hot bubble bath.
