Good morning, world. It’s a new day. I’ve been up since just about daybreak. Podrick came into bed, woke me up for a cuddle, and then went all evil orange on me. To prevent him from waking Shawshank, I came out into the living room at about 6:30am. He has today off, and the last thing he said last night was that he wanted to sleep in.

We had some hiccups yesterday morning, after I inadvertently let Shawshank‘s domain expire. I had been using Dotster as a registrar for about 20 years now, but they were recently folded into Web.com. I had nothing but trouble trying to get shit squared away. I tried to log in using my email address, then tried logging in with my Google account. Finally, I used the 20 year old Dotster login, which worked- once.

I added a new payment, paid the bills, but nothing worked. So I tried to log back in, but now it wouldn’t let me. When I used the “forgot my login” option to have my ID sent, they simply sent my name. Eventually, I was able to log back in, where we figured out that I needed to reset the DNS server info. That was a chore. The site is terribly designed, frustrating me so much that I was almost in tears before Shawshank‘s site was fixed.

Audrey™ had a data dump day, so I spent a lot of the afternoon crunching numbers. I’ve been using the all the features of this fucking plugin for the last month-

  • tag performance reliability
  • high performing hashtag combinations
  • quickly spotting low-performing content at a glance so I can remove it and keep my overall engagement healthy

-and it’s finally paying off. My overall average watch percentage broke 50% and almost all my shit jumped. I added functionality to indicate spikes in views about a week ago, when one or two posts jumped. Since then, pretty much everything I’ve posted since April 11th has spiked hard over the last week. I’m not complaining, I’m mostly just confused.

Shawshank has today off, and our only plan is to go out to the secondhand shop. I don’t think the weather will be quite as warm as yesterday. Regardless of the weather, a day off is always nice.
