Right Round

Good morning, Sunday people. It’s sunny, and comfortable.

The poi arrived yesterday afternoon, right on time. I told Shawshank I felt like I was starving and waiting for a pizza delivery. I was sitting on the edge of the couch watching for the mailman.

They came in a nice little bag, which surprised me because they normally only come with the drawstring bag. My biggest worry with them was the weight difference between these and my Podpoi. When you use one set for so long, you can get used to how they swing and how the tether feels and moves. Switching from my first cheap set to the pods felt like I needed to relearn a bunch of stuff. I expected these to move a lot differently than the pods because of their differences in weight and shape. Fortunately, the worry over their weight was unfounded. I haven’t put them on the scale, but the difference in weight is pretty much negligible.

They have a nice shape and size. Both factors work fabulously with more “glowsticking” moves like wraps.

What I really should have been worried about is the fact these are fucking SOLID. If it wasn’t for the fact that I’m currently living alone, my family would probably start throwing out accusations at Shawshank. The tops of my hands are a bit puffy, with some faint bruising.

Today, laundry and the cleaning I skipped out on yesterday because I was spinning all evening.
