Hey, it’s Monday again. My mental calendar week will be completely borked this week. Yesterday was a little better than Saturday. We didn’t have to go to the Compound for dinner. Brian went to his uncle’s new place to fix his antenna, and I guess that met his quota of family for the day. We’d been over a day or so earlier, anyway. Not even the puppy makes it better, to be honest. Bearable, but definitely not better.
So, I played with the Switch all afternoon.
For the most part, I managed to do what I usually do in Baldur’s Gate 2:
I walked aimlessly around until I happened to actually do something.
This resulted in me finally finishing the chapter of the game that I was working on. Again, I really wish I knew which quests were pivotal, plot-moving things and what are side quests. I love the side quests, and I’m absolutely ok with doing them. However, I have so fucking many on one list that it’s completely overwhelming.
I was also able to go outside and spin poi for a little while. I feel like every time I step outside with the poi, I’m presented with one of those situations where I’m given a set of options and have to make choices.
You Can Only Pick 2
Last night, I couldn’t even achieve two options, let alone the miracle of collecting all three. My phone cooperated, but that was about it. Just when I thought I was getting into the flow of things, I’d twist my tethers too much and end up with bad planes. Shitty plane control results in hitting myself every fucking time. I had a good stretch of music, but then had to skip through a bunch of things I wasn’t in the mood for.
Shawshank reminded me about setting up my Canadian phone number before I cross the border. Surprisingly, I managed to keep the SIM I bought while I was up north last winter. The only thing I need to do is figure out which carrier it is and reactivate it before I go. I’m sure I have an email from them somewhere; I’m not that dedicated to email maintenance. I’ll probably sit down tonight with the calendar and work out dates and hotel reservations.
Brian has today off because of the holiday. At least the sun is shining again. We’re going to the Compound for dinner, which means we’ll probably head over at some point in the afternoon. We’ve been told the meal will be chicken and rice, but Brian doesn’t know exactly what that will consist of. I’m sure it will be an absolutely delightful dinner of unseasoned chicken with several sides of racism.
