cables and consoles and controllers (oh my)
Hello, world. The morning is here, loading up another Wednesday. The Southeast Saskatchewan Corvid Battalion has dropped in for a squawk, and the day looks nice so far.

We had a very slothy Tuesday. Shawshank started a load of laundry and pulled all the stuff out of the TV stand and one of its drawers. Once everything was out, he got busy sorting through the box of cables and consoles and controllers. Thankfully, nearly everything we needed was in the box. Within an hour or so, he’d fished cables through holes, connected all the consoles to a large Radio Shack hub, and nicely organized the drawer.
Since we didn’t have a power bar for all the cords, we couldn’t test anything immediately. Shawshank popped the Switch on and played Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 until the secondhand shop opened up in the afternoon. We drove up to look for a power bar. When it became clear we weren’t going to find one, he texted his mom to ask if he could steal one from the basement pile. I found a few decks of cards for my stash, and a shirt. We also found some framed native art from a gallery in the same city Shawshank grew up in, and joked it probably came in with one of the boxes we donated after the town yard sale. His mom had no recollection of it, but we found a print from the same artist in our house. I’d taken it out of the yard sale wares while we were setting up, keeping it for myself. He grabbed some nails when he picked up the power bar. Now, in addition to the consoles in the cubby, we have artwork on the walls.
We’re back to work today. I’m in the mood to look cute today, but who knows how that will work out. Cute or not, I’m going to leave someone hurting.
