Ok, this could suck too

First, I need someone to come and kill the spider that’s made a web in the pantry between the stack of Kraft dinner boxes and the box of teabags. I have three or four more teabags in my tin by the pot, and the web blocks it.

Ok. We now return to our original posting, already in progress.

I admit it. I was wrong about how much yesterday would suck. Yesterday was actually pretty manageable, just steady. It would have been way way worse IF THE FUCKING PHONES WORKED.

That’s right, folks, unless something has changed overnight – and I doubt it has – today will be DAY 8 without phones. Last Monday, when all this started, the phones would ring when people called, but only one phone could pick up. Sometimes we could dial out. The situation worsened over the course of the week. By the time I left on Friday, the phones would ring every now and then, but it was always a crap shoot about whether or not we could actually answer it. Yesterday, none of the phones even rang, and we couldn’t make outbound calls. When I left, the store’s network was spotty and the pharmacy computers kept locking up.

The worst part is the way the district manager and corporate are handling this. We entered our initial service ticket last Monday, but it was only considered to be “medium” priority until Wednesday. On Wednesday, Matryoshka emailed the DM to let her know we couldn’t make our outbound calls where we beg people to fill their meds. THEN they upgraded up to critical. The store manager reached out to the DM on Friday because nothing had been resolved. The notes on the service ticket show various departments passing it back and forth. Our DM didn’t get back to the store manager until yesterday morning, said she didn’t have her work cellphone. She suggested he contact the operations center to see if our location is still listed as open.

When the store network started to have problems yesterday morning, the manager logged another ticket. At one point, the ticket was updated to say “we tried to call you to troubleshoot, but your phones aren’t working”.

DayTech told StressedRPh about the computers after things were closed up last night. StressedRPh has been on vacation for the last week and today is her first day back. No one contacted her to tell her what was happening because she couldn’t do anything and it wouldn’t be worth the issues.

Today will be interesting.
