not now. then.

not now. then.

Morning. Again. We woke up to a nice, sunny morning. The coffee is hot and good. The cats are enjoying open doors and breezes. I’m up, Shawshank is up, and it’s fucking Sunday.

Yesterday was nice, although slightly frazzling. We set out for Slightly BiggerTown once I’d dressed. It was early enough for us to hit all our stops and not waste the whole day in the shops or on the road. Unfortunately, we were barely out of town when the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT popped on in the Hot Mess Express. Like, we had literally just commented on the cows in their pasture near our house, that close. Shawshank turned us around, brought us home, and asked his mother if we could borrow a vehicle.

It could have been worse; I could have spent three hours thinking about being stuck on the side of the road and panicking about how we were going to get home. As it is, I’m a bit worried about costs, but we’ll figure it out when we know what’s up. We’ll bring the Hot Mess over to Shady Acres this afternoon. His dad will hook it up to his gadgets and figure out why it’s unhappy. If needed, I can worry then.

The main benefit of going out earlier in the day is coming home earlier. We hit a couple of shops in the plaza to grab the assorted things on our list. Some random doohickeys in the dollar store first, then a trip to the pharmacy for meds and bathroom things, and finally the grocery store. We grabbed lunch on our way out of town, and made it home before the afternoon had really started.

The rest of the day was peaceful. Shawshank played some Tears of The Kingdom after we ate. I fired up the sewing machine and closed up the tablecloth pants’ seams. I spent the early evening fucking around with Witcher 3 (skipping the frog for now). Shawshank watched me run around in the woods, destroying wolf packs and exploring caves.

Today’s going to be a typical Sunday. There’s a load of clothes in the wash. We’re going to Shady Acres in the afternoon. I’m wearing normal pants today, because we’ll be picking apples.
