Near….. far…..

Near….. far…..

Good morning, my friends. I’m in an animal-onesie, drinking a coffee, cat in my lap, how about you?

I skipped a workout yesterday. I used the logic of “I shoveled on Monday, that counts as a workout” to skip the regular, real workout. It’s not like I didn’t do stuff, because I did.

First, I spoke to our agent, who is super patient when dealing with the endless bullshit this house is throwing at her. On Monday, they said the buyer’s need to have the repairs done before closing if they want this house. While inconvenient, we could work with it if we have to. Yesterday, they decided that wasn’t enough. They’re refusing to let the repair costs come out of the sale of the house. The buyer will have to pay out of pocket for the stuff they want fixed before closing. We agreed to lower the sale by another $200 to “assist with repair costs”.

I feel like this won’t ever end.

Whatever. In the meantime, they’re trying to find out exactly what the powers that be will consider “fixed” for the step. The buyer’s agent thinks this will only be about a week delay. Our agent figures two. Either way, I’m not leaving this weekend.

I went to the lawyer’s to sign my half of the paperwork yesterday afternoon. It went pretty smoothly, even with their Covid precautions. I stood in the ground floor foyer and signed while the paralegal leaned over the second floor rail and explained my paperwork. They alerted Shawshank to the possibility of a tiny hiccup with residency and taxes. However, it’s nothing that doesn’t have a loophole around it, as long as the proper papers are filled out. I signed my stuff, and I’m good to go.

The end is near.

I stopped by the pharmacy at one point. It was nice to see DayTech and StressedRPh. From what they’ve said, things are pretty much unchanged. They finally hired someone, and StressedRPh keeps accidentally calling her by the wrong name. I gave them my vintage furs. They each took one of the wraps; one went to StressedRPh’s granddaughter and the other to DayTech’s youngest daughter. The third fur was a cape, which went to DayTech’s gender-fluid brother.

Today, I’m not leaving the house. I’ll do my workout after Shawshank starts work. Shawshank and I have a video chat planned where I’ll help him finish up the last bit of their new online catalog at work. I need to do the dishes, and then put up some new smoke detectors. Once the chores are done, the rest of the day is mine to do as I please.
