Good morning, world. We’re up. It’s Sunday. The sun is coming up, and it looks like we’ll have a day. I had a miserably moist night, waking up a few times because I was either uncomfortably warm or cold and sweaty. It’s not nice.
I didn’t have a good day, so I didn’t post yesterday. My mom called in the morning. We all know what a phone call from mom means, and it’s never good news. She’s in the hospital. She has a wicked case of colitis and went in on Friday at some point. “It was a bloodbath”, she told me. Trying to get any other info out of her is like pulling teeth.

Me: are they running tests and do they have any idea when they’ll let you out?
Mom: [hours later] No testing yet
Me: ☹
Mom: [hours later again] I’m hoping when im done with my testing I’ll be able to do some more long term learning of what they want to do
Me: I hope so too, when do they plan to do that?
Mom: I don’t know I haven’t gotten any tests done yet
This was 10 hours worth of texts between us. I tried to probe more, but she hasn’t replied yet. Hopefully I’ll get more info from her today.
Aside from the anxiety spiral, I also spent the morning messing with the WordPress plugin. It’s getting hung up on saving hashtags during the regular data entry again. I can either have a giant-ass list of hashtags that save perfectly, or nothing. I was trying to load a drop down list of hashtags which I could select, which would generate a table with the input fields for all the tags slected. The AJAX loads, it makes the table perfectly, but doesn’t save the tags properly. It’s fucking pissing me off, but I don’t have the knowledge to dig in and figure out what’s happening. I know just enough about PHP and html to get around, fix the small shit, and break the bigger shit. And I’ve never fucked with JavaScript. I can read it, have an idea of what’s happening, but not know why.
On the other hand, I fixed the graph. Twice.

As you can see, I’ve updated it since the last post. I’ve switched it to a regular bar graph that displays the average watch time of a tag as a percentage of the average video length of clips with specific tags. Based on the data I’ve entered, I feel like no matter what the content, no one is watching more than about ~3 seconds of anything. The men are scrolling like it’s TikTok.
Shawshank has a full shift today. I’m going to do human things, and try to hydrate before I’m mummified.
