Happy Monday, y’all. The heat – such that it was – broke overnight, and this morning is cooler than it’s been in a week. Shawshank closed the front door after making sure the coffee was brewing. We’ve got warnings about air quality being bad due to the wildfires in Alberta, but that’s it for the moment.
In the meantime, my mother is stuck inside the house for the last week because Florida is boiling.
We had a nice lazy Sunday. Shawshank did the laundry and little chores in the morning. We went out to Shady Acres in the afternoon for dinner and were pretty much greeted with “don’t sit, come see”. His mom is still clearing out a lot of Grandma’s things that didn’t follow her to the home, and had gathered up three plastic bins full of assorted craft supplies for me. I picked through things and took a bunch of sewing needles, a snap installer, two antique cigarette tins, and a shoe box full of spools of thread. FULL.
Welp, looks like I won’t need to buy thread for a while.
We’re driving out to Slightly BiggerTown for some groceries today. I’ll make a pair of pants or two when I get home.
