midnight cheesecake

Morning, my friends. Happy Tuesday. I have a delicious coffee beside me. The sun is shining outside. Mom already had a load of wash going when I came out of the bedroom. Hopefully the rain holds off until the afternoon.

Yesterday followed the same pattern most of my days go: an artsy morning through lunch, followed by an afternoon of outdoor painting. There might be a couple of hours of the Switch, maybe some poi; yesterday it was more of me running around a map “collecting question marks”, as I think of it.

The paintings are coming along. I find things turn out so much better if I break everything down into pieces. It’s not to the extent of a paint-by-numbers kit, not quite that bad. Instead, I focus on smaller parts instead of trying to do everything at once. I see three stages of painting:

  1. WTF is this?
  2. A point where you can get the gist of what I’m aiming for, but it all looks half-finished in an ok sort of way, like an Olivia De Berardinis pinup
  3. Oh, so it’s another house

Aside from that stuff, nothing new here. Mom is flying north on Thursday. We’ll probably go to the store today or tomorrow for some last minute stuff.
