It’s a Sunday thing

The birthday parade went off without a hitch. My step-mother passed out balloons to tie on our vehicles. I didn’t want to bother with untying any knots so I tried to slip the string between the two pieces of my side mirror. Unfortunately, the strings weren’t thick enough, and I lost my balloons four houses before the birthday boy’s. My sister told me to come back around to unpack the presents I’d brought. I was able to see my new nephew, who made an adorable little monkey in a giant baby cocoon. Gave my dad a hug, handed a cake to an uncle, hugged another uncle, and headed home with a cupcake.

The rest of the day was pretty uneventful. I played some Albion and watched TV and Facebook videos and chatted with Shawshank a bit. We had our nightly video chat, and talked about our days. I completely passed out as soon as I crawled into bed.

The local weather gal described this morning as “windy and chilly but it sure is pretty”. It’s still more clouds than blue sky, but it does look pretty outside. However, it looks like a cold pretty. The exact same conditions in the middle of August would make me want to go outside. This makes me want to hibernate. Maybe it’s the lack of the leaves on the trees.

The cats let me sleep in a little this morning. It’s always surprising when they do that, but the extra 20 minutes or so was nice. I lazed around for a while and nursed a coffee. Eventually, I wrote up a workout for the morning. That’s been done, so there’s not much else. I’ve been shopping a few times this week, so there’s no reason for me to leave the house today.

My only other plans for the day are some binge watching TV and cooking some chicken for the week. Tomorrow’s a holiday, so I don’t think we’ll hear anything about the house until at least Tuesday.
