Hello, Sunday. It’s sunny and bright and cold again. The cats are taking a moment to recharge after the regular flurry of morning activities: coffees, cat food, bathroom routines, etc. I spent the 45 minutes before the alarm went off silently watching TikTok clips; I’m semi-awake by this point. The coffee keeps coming though, and that’s nice.
(Thank you, Shawshank, for keeping the mug filled)
We intended to enjoy a bit o’ sloth mode yesterday, but ended up doing things anyway. Shawshank put a load of sweaters in the wash. At one point, I suggested moving some books around on the bookshelves. I’ve wanted to move some of the living room shit for a few days. Last week, I noticed some of the bookshelves bowing under the weight of their contents. Additionally, some slightly top-heavy modular shelving was in danger of crashing into the big front window every time Pippin launched herself into the penultimate level.
We rearranged the bookcase so its adjustable shelves weren’t filled with so many of the heavier, hardcover books. Most of the hardcovers were moved into some builtin shelves in the living room, which can handle their weight. Shawshank moved a vintage set of encyclopedias and one of my kettlebells into the lowest modular shelf to beef up the weight in the bottom. I removed some printed photos from their frames and replaced them with some of my paintings. As an added bonus, we got rid of some books. We filled one bag to donate and another for Shawshank‘s mother.
I spent way too many hours playing Breath of The Wild yesterday. Shawshank handed me the controller at one point, and my last save found me just outside the castle. And I don’t know what possessed me to sneak in.
Shawshank sat back and let me explore the place. I had a lot of fun, once I got over the initial terror of the unknown (and inside where there are no guardians to dodge). However, after several hours, the music was getting to both of us, and I handed off the controller for the evening.
Today, we’re being a bit lazy. We shaved our heads and showered, I’m dressed and ready to start assembling my human suit. There’s a load of laundry started, and we’re going to Shady Acres for dinner.
