I’m sorry, I need a screen.

Hello, world. The sun is rising, the air is crisp, and MY COMPUTER IS WORKING AGAIN.

Shawshank was doing some chores at Shady Acres while the fam was in Slightly BiggerTown anyway, so I asked him to bring their laptop home so I could restore my own. There was a bit of confusion when I first started it up, as it runs Windows 8 and I fucking hate it. I briefly panicked at the thought I wouldn’t be able to even run the restore creator. Fortunately, after waiting for the download and a proper reboot, I was able to get the Chromebook working once again. I don’t mind doing everything on my phone, but some things are just way easier on the laptop. Call me old school, but unless I’m mindlessly doom scrolling, I prefer the desktop for pretty much everything.

The gremlin workshop is in full swing. I skipped Just Dance. Instead, I cut and pinned five new pairs of genie pants yesterday. I think I’m up to at least 10 pairs in various stages of work right now. Usually, one small (or fitted) sheet is enough for me to make one pair of pants. Larger flat sheets can sometimes convert to two pairs. Sometimes I get really lucky; a duvet cover I prepped yesterday will make four pairs of pants.

My goal is to sew the “base models” up as much as I can before my first batch of elastic arrives in two weeks. That’s only three seams. What’s in the work pile will be ridiculously easy to deal with, especially if I pre-load a bunch of bobbins before I sit down to sew. I can add waistbands and cuffs as needed, and as I find matching fabrics in the stash. In an effort to clear out inventory, I’ve got the entire shop on sale. If it’s not on sale, use the code BUTIKNOWYOU.

Today, more sewing. Shawshank sent the ladies at the Date Night restaurant pics of the fabrics I’m currently working on. I have work to do, but I want to dance, too 😭
