i wore clothes and ate nachos

Morning, y’all. Let’s start the new work week with darkness and freezing rain.

We lazed about yesterday. Early in the day, Shawshank took a ride up to the little gas station outside TinyTown to pick up some paperwork. Mondays are typically brunch days. Instead, we opted to make nachos for lunch. Shawshank brought the nachos and cheese home almost two weeks ago, but we promptly forgot about them. Every time we remembered them, it was too late at night to prepare them. They were almost worth the wait.

I played Skyrim all afternoon. Catnip the mostly-rogue was forced to practice some of her conjuration spells because everything was kicking her ass yesterday. When I loaded up the game, I was mid-quest, in another boring Dwemer dungeon. I love the looks of the Dwemer stuff, but they’re soooooo sparsely populated. Gimme close-quartered catacombs filled with Draugr and mine tunnels stocked with bandits.

I made some progress on my takeover of Winterhold’s Mages’ College. This was the boring part of the run, because I spent the very beginning dealing with another puzzle. I don’t mind the puzzles, unless I deem them “annoying” for whatever reason. Unfortunately, this was an annoying puzzle – rotating the rings on the ceiling was noisy and slow. To make matters worse, 90% of the dungeons that have a secret exit that spits you out somewhere close to the beginning, and this is one of the few that didn’t. When I finally completed the task, I had to run through three levels of ruins and caves back to the surface.

I spent the rest of the afternoon doing side quests. I started a couple of longer quest lines, and completed a few bounties. Two more jarls made me a thane in their hold and offered me land, but I haven’t taken them up on their offers. Aside from the quest for the mages, the only proper quest line I completed was a 3-part fetch quest for my favorite dagger.

We finished off the night with creepy Netflix and breakfast for dinner. It was nice.

Today, it’s back to the grind. Shawshank is back in the shop, and I need to generate some content for the week.
