I need green yarn so I can crochet myself an iguana hand puppet

Good morning, world, it’s a new week. Same as the old week, really. Now, if the first week of February was somehow followed by the third week of June, then we’d have a new week. I was up sometime around 5am – likely before – when Podrick dropped into the snuggling spot. At that point, no matter what’s happening, I’m not getting back to proper sleep. He was trying to sleep on the shelf next to my bed, where he’s not allowed unsupervised because he eats cords and literally every single time I threaten to beat a 20lb cat with a $5 Temu aurora light.

I didn’t do a helluva lot yesterday, but I still managed to feel somewhat productive. I put some actual clothing on, ate some lunch, and played Saints Row: the Third until Shawshank came home from work. With a second human in the house to help supervise, I set out to do some crafts. My first project was some pillowcases. Not content with the typical shape, I tried to make a little fancier than a standard pillowcase. Naturally, they turned out like shit. The second project was a thigh harness made with various widths of sewing elastic. Thankfully, it turned out much better, and seems functional.

We watched Frankenstein last night, enjoying it. I’ve never read the original story, so I can’t comment on how faithful it was/wasn’t, but I loved how lush every scene felt. It was like Baz Luhrmann made a horror movie. The only thing I didn’t like was the fact that I couldn’t see Jacob Elordi as anything other than Jacob Elordi in a lot of body paint.

Today is shaping up to be a regular Sunday. There’s laundry in the wash, and bacon thawing in the fridge. We’ll be going out to Shady Acres this afternoon.
