I LEFT THE HOUSE

I LEFT THE HOUSE

Good morning, world. Tuesday is here. RIGHT HERE. It’s a bright, sunny Tuesday, that’s for sure. Pippin has already staked out her claim on the little table by the door. Chaucer, on the other hand, has taken the opportunity to sprawl on Shawshank‘s lap.

We had a nice Monday. Shawshank worked the opening shift. I washed my makeup brushes, and that was my only form of productivity.

I played Just Dance for a while in the morning, for the first time since Thursday. Happily, I managed to beat a couple of high scores, which is even better when they’re on songs I struggled with. High scores aside, the two sessions I played yesterday were hella fun. I almost feel like I have a better time with it at the beginning of the week compared to my Thursday or Friday plays. Maybe I burn out playing daily? Who knows. I’ll play when the mood strikes. I have two new Joy-Con straps on the way- one straps to the palm, one on the back of the wrist.

Shawshank came home in the afternoon, after having swapped the Hot Mess Express for his mom’s truck. We headed out to BiggerTown to buy flowers and candy. It’s a nice drive, and everything is melting. I recorded my typical road trip video.

Shawshank handled buying the presents, so I had the chance to check out the thrift shop. They’re slightly more expensive than the shop in TinyTown, but they’re a bigger shop and usually have more interesting things to find. I spent $7 and left with a new outfit and a “Thomas & Friends” sheet that will make some fabulous pants. I didn’t buy the vintage Jann Arden concert hoodie, and I must have dropped the bra I’d been carrying around because I don’t remember paying for it. Shawshank picked up a pizza for dinner, and we headed back to TinyTown. We dropped the flowers and a card off with Shawshank‘s grandmother, and stuck around for a little while to chat.

He’s working a closing shift tonight. Consequently, I’ll be unsupervised for the later half the day. I plan to iron the pants that are mostly-finished. Shawshank‘s mom gave me a wicker chest, and I’m going to transfer the fabric stash into it. If I can tame that corner even a little, I’ll feel better. I’ll definitely play some Just Dance at some point. There’s going to be chicken sandwiches, maybe a bubble bath. Not at the same time, naturally.
