Humpday Heat

Humpday Heat

It’s Wednesday, and thank you for spending the morning with me. ☕ At least, that’s what they say on the local news. It’s another stupidly humid day, and I’m drinking a coffee while Mal cries at the bottom of the stairs.

Yesterday’s shift was decent. It was steady at times, but never reached the point where we’d describe it as crazy. It was a split shift, and we had a floater pharmacist in for the second half of the day. She was great; she hates corporate, and hates the way district management handles anything.

Judging by the amount of trash bins outside last night, no one in my neighborhood is sure whether or not trash pickup is today. The town website says Victory Day pushes pickup back a day. However, the end of my street is literally another city, and our zip code is from that city. I’m not 100% certain which one handles my bin. I put out the wheely bin and the recycling last night; if they come this morning, I’ll at least have that out. I don’t expect them to pick it up this morning, and I can put out the other things tonight when I come home.

I spent a little bit of time in the backyard with the poi. I’m trying to learn a new trick, and lately I’ve tried to go out there every night. I thought I had learned the basics the other night, and recorded a short video to show Shawshank. Then I watched the video. What I thought was some sort of awesome split-time same-direction anti-spin 2-petal flowers – which I don’t expect to mean anything to y’all – looks like me flailing about. Last night was a little better, but I was sweaty after the 30 minutes I was out there.

Unfortunately, the humidity and the heat never broke last night. When I went to bed it was about 85F (30C) upstairs. I woke up at some point in the middle of the night and took my shirt off because It was miserably hot still. Supposedly, while the heat might not go down over the rest of the week, the humidity should break today.

I hope.
