Good morning, y’all. We’ve got another Humpday upon us, as well as Groundhog Day. I have combined these two mundane days into one glorious new holiday, Hump-a-Groundhog Day. Your move, Hallmark.
We ran errands yesterday. I finally made my way to the post office to mail out the last of the Christmas presents. As is tradition, I forgot to put any sort of note/card indicating who the present is from or what it’s even for. The receivers will just end up with a box one day this week and then
BAM
Art.
That was the cheapest trip to the post office I’ve had in quite a while. We also dropped off a bunch of old electronic stuff at the e-cycle place. Brian is trying to clean out the third bedroom, which has become a catch all space since they moved in five years ago. There’s a bed in there, and a dresser, so it can function as a bedroom if need be. However, it’s also got a writing desk, and a travel scaffold, and a small secondhand junk store hidden inside. He dragged a couple of boxes out the other day, and we managed to recycle a laptop, a soundbar, and a PS3, among other things. The weather was sunny enough, and it was nice to get out of the house for a bit.
Unfortunately, it was too windy to spin poi at all, and today looks like it will be even breezier. Mom‘s wind chimes are tinkling nonstop. We had some sun this morning, but the clouds are definitely rolling in. Last night’s local weather forecast said “expect rain, because it’s coming”.
Since there’s nothing but rain for the next two days, I’m going to have some fun with Baldur’s Gate all day. My birthday is coming, and I’m trying not to look at games because I know I might end up with something. Birthdays and birthday gifts are a sore subject for me these last few years. I always look at things that I want to be gifted, which just sets me up for disappointment when people give me things I don’t want (like more games). Seriously, fam, gifts cards. Money. Excellent gifts. Let me buy my own stuff, or buy me what I want.*
*also, what I want varies wildly depending on the day, but lately it’s expensive LED flow props and OMG do I want some Russian tech fans)
