could’ve been so beautiful

could’ve been so beautiful

We’re up, and it’s a gray Sunday. I enjoyed some morning cuddles with Pippin. We had some rain move in overnight, helping to persuade the last of the snow to leave town. The farmers won’t complain.

We were sloths yesterday. Shawshank had the day off, and we didn’t need to go shopping, so neither of us put on real clothes. Instead, we did a marathon watch of the “Hunger Games” movies. I enjoyed most of the original books, and had seen all but the last movie. They’re not cinematic masterpieces, and we enjoyed roasting them while watching. Still, they’re mostly-entertaining, and I got to spend 8 hours looking at fucking (mostly-)amazing costumes.

There’s always someone complaining about Fansly’s FYP algorithm on Reddit. In one recent post, someone mentioned how using too many hashtags can hurt your engagement times, explaining that it’s just math. If you’re using popular tags on your content solely to bring in views, you can pull big numbers. But, if your content doesn’t resonate with users searching for that particular tag, such as using #teen when you’re obviously in your 30’s, those users aren’t sticking around to watch your FYP clips. Sure, you might get more views overall, but every 0.5 second watch chips away at your overall watch time average.

Having seen this in action while entering data, I wanted to get a better idea of exactly how much of an effect things have. I already had everything I needed, and it’s not like I would need to collect any additional info to calculate what could’ve been.

Holy shit. This might just be the best thing I’ve added to this system.

Today is brunch day. There’s a load of clothes in the washer. Later, we’ll be going out to Shady Acres for dinner.
