Hello, world. It’s a marshmallow world out there this morning. We went to bed with clear skies, but something rolled in overnight. It’s snowing, with fluffy flakes this morning. We should expect 2-4″ according to one forecast. I’m ok with it; we didn’t have any plans to leave the house today. We’re not even getting dressed, and that’s fine.
Bonus: I can sit on the toilet without my lower body threatening to put me on the floor.
We drove out to Slightly BiggerTown and did the shopping yesterday. Shawshank worked the morning shift, and I played games for until he came home around lunchtime. Since it was late in the afternoon by the time we were out and about, we skipped the stop to pick up lunch. He played the new game for a few hours, and eventually I made us dinner.
There’s been a TikTok video tending for the last week for a Dollar Tree Thanksgiving dinner. All the ingredients can be picked up at whatever variety of dollar store is in the area: instant mashed potatoes, canned turkey and green beans, packet gravy and stove top stuffing, layered in a baking dish. Shawshank picked up everything at work. The end result wasn’t bad. I cooked the half the stuff with chicken broth instead of water, and I added seasoning because SHIT NEEDS SEASONING.
Shawshank had been dealing with a head cold this week. Neither of us is really sick, and he’s been feeling better than he did last week. At the same time, we definitely don’t want to risk bringing whatever might be left over to Shady Acres and getting his immunocompromised dad sick.
Today is brunch and puttering day. I’m sure Shawshank will play some games for a bit, and we’ll swap off at some point.
