Happy Sunday, y’all. We’re up. I’ve been treated to Pippin snuggles all morning. They were an acceptable trade for being up a little early.
We did the things we needed to do yesterday. I assumed a human form, and we were on the road shortly thereafter. The weather forecast had updated, and the threatened snow never showed. The new grocery store is open in Slightly BiggerTown. It’s clean and new and BIGGER. We made sure to walk around the whole place to see what they’d added. The produce/deli/bake shop area is almost doubled in size. Even better, they’ve brought back the packs of frozen poutine and chicken nuggets.
After we came home and ate lunch, I played a bunch of “Balatro“. I’m trying to enjoy the ghost deck, but it’s a total pain in the ass to get started with. I feel like it goes really well, or really badly, within the first three rounds. I can’t get past the 5th ante, and that makes me sad. The only thing that will help me is another 47 hours (at the very least) of playing it. Practice, obviously.
We watched “Wicked” after dinner. I love the original “Wizard of Oz” movie, but I fucking hated the book “Wicked“. I really enjoyed the movie, and I loved all the subtle little nods to the original. Did it need to be two parts? We’ll see.
Today, being Sunday, means we’ll be going out to Shady Acres this afternoon. Shawshank has a load of clothes in the wash, but that’s something for future me to deal with.
