At least its sunny.

At least its sunny.

Morning, folks. I’m awake just in time to catch some morning news. It’s a little chilly outside today, so I’m huddled in the fuzzy robe. I have Chaucer snuggling against me, and a cup of hot cocoa.

Why cocoa? Because the pantry spider is still alive, and continues to hold my box of teabags hostage.

My doctor’s appointment went fine. It was a followup visit, as my doctor likes to see patients every six months. I was in and out within five minutes. I spent the next hour or so dealing with the post office and enjoying a pumpkin spice latte and a bagel in the parking lot at work.

Unfortunately, I walked into some pharmacy chaos yesterday. StressedRPh was administering a couple of vaccines. It was a problem customer, a grumpy old dude. He has a habit of letting us finish something halfway before he’ll ask about something else. In this case, he came in to pick up something and receive a flu shot, then complained that something else wasn’t filled. When whatever needed to be processed was almost complete, he suddenly decided he wanted another vaccine. They had trouble processing that one, and it needed some funky overrides before his insurance would pay for it. He repeated this with a third vaccine, one which actually takes some time to prepare.

At the same time, a couple of other problem patients came in to pick up their meds. They had called earlier to ask when their things would be ready, and were told they could come in after noon. When you’re an addict, this means show up 30 minutes early and stand around, staring at us as though it will make us move faster. Unfortunately, we can only give estimates about what time we can have something finished, but we can’t guarantee things because we’re not fucking psychic.

Once StressedRPh finished the five vaccines she was working on at the same time as the regular prescriptions, the problem patients’ orders were only 15 minutes late, but they still yelled about it. One threatened to take their things somewhere else. The other told her to shut up with the threats. They can’t go somewhere else, the other pharmacy chain in the area won’t fill scripts from their doctor. The doctor is sketchy as fuck.

The rest of the day was pretty much ok. It was steady, but manageable. We didn’t finish everything, but it wasn’t too bad when we left. I didn’t stay late. I’d already ordered food for delivery after I got home, and had an excuse/reason not to not stay.

Today is more of the usual weekend bullshit. Laundry, some shopping. A LOT of cleaning. So far, no one has called to ask me to cover NewTech‘s shift.

Ill still do the normal morning stuff, just in case.
