Welcome to the weekend. It’s already sunny, and I’m awake. If you’re reading this, I’m assuming you’re also awake.
We didn’t get too much rain yesterday. It was enough to send us outside to pull the clothes off the line. I spend much of the afternoon sewing up some fabric poi. They’re lighter, so they move slower. They’re also a lot softer than either of my other sets. Both of these qualities are helpful when I’m trying to work out maneuvers.
Yesterday’s get-together was much less painful than anticipated. The hosts are somehow related to Brian (possibly a cousin?) and much more laid back than the other family friend I’ve met. I tried not to eat that much.
Since Brian had been up since around 3am, we didn’t stay for very long. Long enough to eat and have a couple of drinks (not me), and be social, just long enough that we weren’t doing the whole “chew and screw”. I was sent home with roughly half of a meat and cheese tray. Mom left with a bunch of little sandwiches.
Once we were home, I bright the LED poi outside. I had some fun spinning for an hour or so. At the top of my shopping list this week is bug spray.
