Good morning, world. It’s here, the day we’ve been waiting for. Happy Friday. I woke up warm and smothered by blankets, but not too early. The cats were in their normal places, and Chaucer only started his bullshit when Shawshank‘s alarm went off. Sunshine fills TinyTown. I’m filling myself with coffee.

I took photos for Etsy yesterday. While I wanted to take some outdoor pics, the wind was too much to deal with. Instead, I set up the fake backdrop and took photos in the living room. I took my pics, and a handful actually looked ok. They’re a start.

All of these were tablecloths in their former lives. I’m pleased with the tie-dyed ones. They could have had better color coverage, but I was worried I wouldn’t have enough dye to do all four pairs. If I do it again, I’ll buy dye for individual projects to ensure more color and less white. The solid purple pair is the finished result of the VERY LOOONG TABLECLOTH. I feel very meh about how they turned out. The frustration of working with the fabric outweighed the results for me.

I also worked on the necktie skirt. Yesterday, I sewed the bits together, which was an utter pain in the ass. I’ve been adding ties one at a time – maybe two – because of the difficulty sewing some of the inside seams. I disregarded this rule the other day, when I pinned several pieces in but didn’t actually sew anything. As a result, yesterday I was forced to deal with too many pins, no place to grip. At one point, I had to unpin two seams and completely redo them. Another, I accidentally slid a wandering tie under the stuff I was working on, sewed three things together, then had to snip things out very carefully. As frustrated as I was, I made a point to finish everything before I stopped for the day.

Since today is Friday, Shawshank has a full day of work. The vacuum will do its thing this morning. I think I’ll take a bubble bath. I’d like to try and generate some smut so I have 🌶content🌶 for October. Afternoon spin time, since it’s warm enough. We’ll go out for dinner tonight, and then figure out the weekend.
