Happy Humpday, ya’ll. Today’s a chilly morning, with a windchill of -30°🦫 out there. I’ve been up for a bit, feeling Pipping run around the bed and over us. She’s light enough to do it without waking up Shawshank too much.
I took it easy yesterday. Monday wiped me out, so I took it easy yesterday and just kicked it in the house – not like I had plans in the first place. I spent the entire morning working on a graphic for the intrusive-thought-become-spicy-content account.
Zeppelin – aka Backdoor Cat – stopped by for a lunchtime visit. He patiently sat on the step until someone opened the door. Shawshank gave him a dish of food and some water before he went back to work. Zeppelin was so excited about food that he pushed his dish off the step, forcing me to go out in my jammies later to find the bowl and remaining food.
I took some time to convert the large plastic bin we bought over the weekend into a cat hutch. Shawshank put it outside when he came home from work. We haven’t seen anything checking it out, but it’s out there nonetheless. Even if it isn’t used, I feel better knowing that any cat out there has a place to get out of the wind and snow. Last week, our neighbor said she’d like to adopt Zep if he was still coming around, but she hasn’t been home in at least three days. Not the best cat mom.
Today is one of the fancy nights at Shawshank‘s shop. It gives me a chance to get out of the house and wear real clothes. I have a reason to be human for once.
