I bought things.

I bought things.

I’m barely awake and Knickknack is already stirring shit. I hope this isn’t an indication of how things will be the rest of the day. The skies are running on the cloudy side, and there’s a very slight chance we’ll see some rain. Nonetheless, Mom has a load of clothes in the wash. I don’t expect it to be too bad today, either way.

Today is Chaucer‘s 15th birthday. He snuggled with me all night- up close, even. Mal‘s spot was always curled up next to my torso. Most of the time, Chaucer sleeps down by my feet. Lately, I’ve been lucky enough for the upper body cuddles. I brushed him yesterday, removing about a baseball-sized wad of fur. He still left me a hairball this morning.

My tax refund dropped unexpectedly early – probably Friday. I did my one yearly tradition and bought myself something completely frivolous. Last year it was the LED handles for my poi. This year, I decided to try another flowart, and bought a set of Doodlegrip flow fans. I opted for black ones. Since they’re made of HDPE and are pretty much impossible to paint, I’ll probably buy covers for them eventually. I figure the fans will be something I can practice indoors, during shitty weather.

Also in the frivolous purchase category, some glow-in-the-dark forest spirits for the terrariums.

Note: I’ve never even seen “Princess Mononoke“. Extra frivolous.

I don’t have anything planned for today, just laundry, maybe painting. Tomorrow is the monthly ladies’ luncheon.

And… I just remembered I might hear from the dispo today, so now I’m slightly freaked out. Yay.

  1. A few years ago I bought a set of “Princess Mononoke“ mini figurines for my Miyazaki loving sister. She loved them, but asked where to put them–she is very neat and tidy–I said in your planters. She face palmed…it was so cute
