Angels moving furniture

Well, the rain is back.

I’m not impressed. This is simply ridiculous, Florida is the fucking sunshine state for gods’ sake. I’ll take it. It’s a thunderstorm, and my love for thunderstorms is absolutely undying. While the storms isn’t anything wild, there’s plenty of rumbling happening.

The angels are moving furniture, my mom would have told me as a kid.

Since we didn’t do shopping Saturday, we went out yesterday instead. It was a slightly more expensive week. Both the cat litter and their food ran out at the same time, guaranteeing an extra $30 to the bottom line. Brian pointed out to Mom that the steak she put in the cart was $60. She had no idea. She doesn’t look at the prices. After looking at the meat, she exchanged that one pack for two different packs, saved $15, and got an extra steak. I told her the sausages she likes to buy are $12/pack. More shock.

We also went to the Compound for dinner. Dinner was ribs, which means I essentially loaded up my plate with a single rib and some sides dishes. I spent most of the time before dinner researching Chromebooks. I have one in a cart. I haven’t pulled the trigger.

It’s ridiculous. I’m ridiculous.

I ended up all upset on Saturday night about a hypothetical device I don’t even own. I mean, I have my reasons for not doing it yet.

  • Anything with a screen bigger than the average iPad is gonna run me about $100 more than I was thinking of.
  • I fucking hate spending money on myself; however, on the other end of the spectrum, my “buyer’s remorse” that comes with spending a lot of money (like buying my flight) is that my brain says “well you spent that much, what’s more?”
  • I know if I bought anything I’d immediately hate myself, spend a bunch on Shawshank. Additionally, I feel like in my universe, as soon as I spend money, something always happens (LOOKING AT YOU, MAL) requiring me to spend even more.

For the record, the one in the cart doesn’t have the bigger screen.

We don’t have any plans for today. Last night, I sketched out stuff for paintings this week. At the moment, there’s two versions of the Prudence Island lighthouse, and two of the island’s one-room schoolhouse. I’m not sure if I’ll do anything with the paints today, since it’s raining. My only task for the day is a trip to the smoke shop.

  1. I still get buyers remorse too. On the weirdest things. I think it’s just natural.
