IT’S FRIDAY!

That’s no different than yesterday, or tomorrow, but old habits are difficult to break sometimes.

Yesterday, Chaucer was an asshole all morning. He chased Knickknack and cornered her in the mudroom after they startled each other. The ensuing scuffle sounded much like I imagine a bobcat in a washing machine would sound. Knickknack peed everywhere. Everyone was squirted with the water bottle. Chaucer hid under a recliner and Knickknack stayed in the mudroom for a little while. Mom hadn’t fed Knickknack at that point, so she added some CBD oil to the cat’s food. There was one more little verbal spat before the CBD could kick in, so Chaucer got dosed.

Both cats spent the rest of the afternoon with couchlock, and things have been mostly peaceful since. Both Mal and Chaucer followed Mom while she made dinner, and Chaucer was thrilled to sit on the chair to supervise.

Chaucer tried to claw back a little bit of dominance last night. He deliberately walked across the chair Brian was sleeping in. When I tried to prevent him from walking straight across Brian, Chaucer looked right at me, and LICKED BRIAN’S HEAD.

I think today’s weather is supposed to finally clear up. I’m getting used to the “is it or isn’t it” weather, and have been tracking advantage of the sun when I can.

it’s nice outside again, the #poi keeps me from ordering those booty leggings all over the place BECAUSE I WANT MY ASS TO LOOK LIKE THAT #poispinning

The cats are behaving this morning. Mom said they were quiet when she was making her tea. However, we preemptively separated them after Knickknack had breakfast. She’s in Mom’s room, and Chaucer is curled up in a chair.

I’m not sure what the weekend plans are. I think there’s a trip to a nice hardware store, and Mom wants/needs a haircut. I’ll spend some time in the yard with the toys.

There’s always the Elberta Sausage Fest. 🌭
