Try to set the night on fire

Try to set the night on fire

Good morning, my friends. We’ve made one more rotation on this rock we call home. It’s another gray Saturday, and I’m sitting around in my undies, drinking a coffee.

Yesterday was a pretty good day, with scattered bits of melancholy. My morning workout was awesome, and my shift was pretty good as well. The late start had an unexpected benefit: I wasn’t there when the trifecta from Hell showed up all at the same time. Each one is bad enough to warrant a post of their own, and DayTech had to deal with all three at once.

If she ever finds this blog, I want her to know I salute you, DayTech, for always dealing with that bullshit.

I had a great dinner, as usual. My delivery driver was a dude with a SUV tricked out to look like an Umbrella Corp. vehicle. He doesn’t deliver to me as often as the other driver, and unfortunately I never have my phone in my pocket when he delivers.

The only down side to the evening was sitting in the backyard while everyone in town lit off fireworks. I love fireworks. This neighborhood loves them. After we bought this house, Shawshank and I spent our first July 4th running from one side of the property to the other to watch different displays. Last night, I sat in the backyard and watched them alone. I took some pictures while we texted, but right then I wanted to be anywhere else. Eventually, I told him I was going to grab the poi and some headphones, and I’d be back later.

I’d trade all of my tomorrows, for a single yesterday

Janis Joplin, Me and Bobby McGee

Today, I have nothing really pressing to do. It’s gray, but comfortable and not supposed too hot. Over the last week, I’ve taken a bunch of boxes from work, and I plan to pack up a lot of things and schedule a donation pickup. I found the last of my comic collection, and I want to put that on eBay today. At some point, I have to take some cash and buy some food for the next couple of weeks. Aside from the donations and auctions, I have the regular weekend chores.

Tonight, I’m having a fantastic dinner, and maybe a bubble bath. I might poi, it depends on how I feel about doing it without a speaker.
