Good morning, world. We woke up to the sunshine again, and it’s not freezing. The cats are getting screen time: sitting on the table by the open back door, noses to the screen, smelling the town.

In terms of camming, yesterday was another wash. On Monday, I messaged support for the app I’ve been using. When they got back to me, they said they don’t actually support that app anymore, and to use the browser built into one of their toy control apps. Not my preferred choice, but at least I have an answer. I assumed the hotgirl form, and set up for work.

Nothing went as planned. Right from the start, the in-app browser is fucking awful: you open it and it’s just Google. I understand there are just so many cam sites that come and go that the devs can’t possibly add options for all of them. On the other hand, would it have killed them to give us a landing page with the big names linked? To use the browser, I have to search for Chaturbate every single time I want to broadcast. Then, since it’s the first time on this “browser”, I have a repeat performance of Monday’s issues with the login bullshit. Eventually, after searching and logging in (multiple times while I try to remember my password) and authenticating, I can broadcast, but only in portrait mode.

But… all I can do is broadcast. I can broadcast and control on one phone, but not if I want to use Ethernet on the phone. As soon as I switch to wired internet on the phone, the app controller won’t link to the Chromebook’s browser controls. If I connect the toy to the phone that controls my music, I can get everything to talk to each other, keep the phone plugged into the network, and still use the browser controls. Good? Maybe.

Unfortunately, streaming through the browser is positively unwatchable. It’s like watching a glitchy parody of The Ring, but in pastels. The upstream can’t handle it. It wasn’t fabulous through the old app (or Tiktok), but I looked human at least. I assume the apps do some sort of compression/magic along the way.
