It’s a dark and cold Thursday morning. I’ve been up, as usual, awakened by Short Round and my own body’s struggle to decide what temp we were going to be.
The first half of yesterday was filled with activity. Shawshank had an appointment for bloodwork in the morning. I cleaned out two closets while he sneaked into Shady Acres to borrow a power drill. My initial plan was running 20+ feet of cable from the router, along the baseboards, and into the bedroom. We opted to run it into the living room closet instead, which reduced the cable-running to about 5′. The living room closet shares a side with the bedroom closet, so we drilled a hole and pulled a bunch of cable through. In under 30 minutes, we had everything back in the closets.
“I don’t know how you’ll test it, other than a speed test,” Shawshank said as he prepared to return the drill to its proper spot at Shady Acres. Numbers on a speed test mean nothing to me; I know which one needs to be big and which should be small, and that’s the extent of things. I loaded up Fansly and started to upload something. Previously, I could upload a 100mb file in around 15-20 minutes. Anything over 5 minutes long required me to babysit my phone for more than an hour to make sure nothing disturbed the upload. As a test, I uploaded a 108mb file. I started uploading when Shawshank left the house, and completed just as he returned about 5 minutes later.
I didn’t need numbers to tell me that’s a fucking improvement.
Once we finished everything, Shawshank grabbed a controller and loaded up Red Dead Redemption while I added some locs to my latest wig. They’re not permanent, I simply looped them around the “framework” of the wig’s cap. They add just a little more color and texture variety to the wig. I played some Saints Row: the Third after Shawshank had his fill of stagecoach rides. I bought two more properties, took over a penthouse, and stole a street sweeper.
Tonight will be the first test of the new and improved stream. The end of the week is always so slow for me, so it will be very interesting to see how much activity increases, if at all.
