Good morning, world. Happy fucking Thursday. Sir Podrick the Dillweed came up to my pillows and snuggled, half on my chest, gnawing on the side of my finger, front legs stretched out. This wouldn’t have been a problem if it wasn’t 4am when he did it. I put on another guided talk down and hoped for more sleep. It came, eventually, but it wasn’t the greatest, then both cats started shit on the bed around 6am. I got out of bed after threatening to beat a cat with a $5 Temu aurora light.
Shawshank left for work yesterday afternoon, and since Pod was asleep, I immediately started setting up the bedroom. I’d already picked out what I wanted to wear, so I wasn’t lollygagging. I logged in and had a decent first hour or two. Someone came in and said I must be new, they’d never seen me before. No, I’ve been here, I explained, but I’m usually sitting somewhere past page 30, not page 10 like I have done this week. Things slowed down a lot after I took a break to pee and feed the cats, which only cements my opinion that I’m going to have to figure out a better bio-break system. Monday was fabulous- things were so steady that I couldn’t take a break, and the room stayed busy for most of the afternoon and evening. Tuesday was pretty similar.
Sadly, even though things were going pretty well, my stream never recovered its momentum. Logging out for more than a minute or two absolutely squashes my position in the algorithm. Unfortunately, while there’s always food down for the cats, I need to pee at some point. A quick break is unavoidable, but I want/need to keep it as short as possible.
I ended up logging out early. I thought someone was knocking on the back door. Naturally, no one was there. Could I have logged back in? Certainly, but I didn’t want to sit there hoping my room would fill back up. Shawshank was coming home early anyway.
I’m going to manifest a full room for tonight, maybe set a screen saver on my laptop that says BRB and put it in my spot.
