It’s Shawshank’s Friday but it’s really Sunday (and really sunny)

We have sunshine, coffee, and cats. The cats have kibble and sunshine. We’ve had the typical morning snuggles, followed by a morning outburst, and attempts to doze after the door was finally shut.

I streamed most of yesterday morning. The first stream happened while I put on makeup, chatting and letting the 3 viewers I had choose the eye shadow color. After I was dressed, I moved the tripod and phone and streamed some practice spin time. Unfortunately, I was overzealous and cranked my shoulder out of whack, so I logged out of that stream. I reset the living room and moved the tripod again, and streamed while I played Balatro. I lost a game just before Shawshank was scheduled to leave work, so I used that opportunity to put the living room back to normal before he came home.

Look how sweet they can be

The cats were unusually ok with each other. While they’re not outright snuggling, they have moments where we feel like they both want it, but neither knows how. Podrick can’t approach Pippin and “ask” politely, he just gloms onto her. He went most of the day without harassing her. We both feel like he’s not quite as aggressive with her since his trip to the vet. His “prey drive” when it comes to Pippin isn’t as high. It was almost bedtime before he really started to harass her in earnest. Pippin used his grogginess to give him a proper sniff check on Thursday when he was too loopy to chase. Since then, I think she’s determined he’s not a threat, just an asshole. She’s standing her ground more frequently, and has been snuggling in Shawshank‘s lap again.

Caught.

Shawshank had been up early, so not much happened after he returned home. We spent the rest of the day on the couch together. I continued to lose at cards, and he made a post and read wrestling news. We made pizza for dinner, then watched true crime stuff for a lot of the evening. After dinner, I updated Audrey’s data, and went through older entries to pull a list of media that is old enough to recycle.

We were in the middle of watching something about the Moskow, ID murders when we heard noise in the kitchen. It wasn’t the normal sound of him testing the cabinet locks. Nay, this was the sound of dishware being moved. We unlocked the cabinet and found Podrick happily laying on his food bin. The look on that sweet little face says it all. The Great Kibble Caper had been foiled.

Shawshank has a full Sunday shift today. I’m planning to assume my human form while I stream again. It usually goes ok, and it keeps my account from looking too much like a 🌶spicy spammer🌶. I need to spend a couple of hours scheduling FYP content on the spank bank before I do any other fun stuff this afternoon.
