It hasn’t been a great morning here; I’ve been up since around 4:30am. I tried to find sleep again, but couldn’t do it. Chaucer snuggled against my leg for most of the morning, until just around 6am. At that point, he leisurely strolled under the bed and puked directly under my head. Fuck that, I’m out. I’ll be surprised as hell if I don’t end up taking a nap this afternoon.
However, since I was awake, I had a chance to peruse some of my favorite smut peddler support subreddits. I fucking love how legitimately stupid some of these people are. For instance, a creator posted this image with the question, “What does the highlighted section mean? I’ve looked but I can’t find much information.”
This person is completely serious. This is not an isolated incident. I need to know: if these creators obviously understand what “Profile/Timeline” and “FYP Promotion” mean, why does “Search” confuse them so fucking much? Fansly recently let us access our hashtag performance stats. There were a scary amount of questions about whether we were seeing our own stats, or if the list was site-wide.
A lot of these creators have no business doing this type of work, because they are so, so dumb about it. There’s a regular rotation of newbies who post “Onlyfans/Fansly approved me, how do I get subscribers?”. If I’m lucky, they come back after a few months, this time complaining about leaked content. In almost all of these cases, the content in question isn’t leaked from behind their paywall, it’s promo content they’ve posted to Reddit themselves.
Listen to me: it’s not a leak if you posted it publicly.
My favorite posts are from creators who have either received account warnings or outright closures for violating the TOS on whatever site. There’s been a spate of posts recently from people bemoaning the fact that some social media sites let certain accounts skirt the rules. Variations of “Instagram keeps taking my content down but they never do it to so-and-so”, and yes, some people get special treatment. She has 500k followers and you have 276, and we all know the rules are different for the elites.
Last week, a creator posted about an account strike for creating content in public. I see women posting outdoor content all the time!, he reasoned. Sure, but there’s a difference between filming in the middle of the woods on a camping trip and casually whipping out your schlong on the street, as we found out this guy was.
Shawshank‘s up. I guess I should be humanism.
