pantaloons and pizza

Happy Hump Day, y’all. I see some blue skies behind the clouds, but the weather report says there’s a chance of a thunderstorm later today. I’ve been up for a bit, and it’s been gray since I opened my eyes. I could smell wildfire smoke in the air this morning. Whatever we get, I’ll take the weather as it comes, because I can’t do shit about it.

We had a good day. Shawshank went into work for a couple of hours. I assumed a human form, then spun some poi for a bit before he came home at lunchtime. Since he only had to be in for half the day, we drove out to Slightly BiggerTown to make a quick round through town for stuff. Our first stop was the thrift store, where I found a couple of duvet covers and sheets. I also snagged a brocade tablecloth, and a random cutting of a super lightweight black knit. Shawshank found a book to add to the bookshelves.

From the secondhand shop, we went to the dispo, then grabbed sandwiches for dinner and lunch. I waited outside while Shawshank was in the grocery store. He ran into the waitress we see on our weekly dates, and talked with her about my funky pants biz. We passed through a patchy shower on the drive, but things were dry at home.

The rest of the day was pretty sloth-y. I checked out the fabrics I brought home and split apart the two duvet covers. I like finding them; most of the time they’re the same price as a random sheet, and I’m basically getting bonus fabric. Normally, I would iron what I brought home. While I could (and probably should) wait to iron it until I’m actually going to use the fabric, I like prepping a bunch at once instead. I went outside for a little bit when the sun went down, and managed to find 10 minutes of flow before our late night snacks.

Today is going to be pretty typical. Shawshank has work, and I’m going to finish a pair of pantaloons I started last night. I’ll probably stream a bit, and try to take some pics of pants. There’s pizza for dinner.
