everyone needs rainbow genie pants.

Morning, y’all ☕. Happy Tuesday from my spot on the couch. The sun is shining, and the forecast I saw last night claims today is going to be niiiice. Like, we’re talking spring weather. The skies are perfectly cloudless, and the wind finally cut the shit, if the motionless trees are any indication.

Monday was good. We headed out to Slightly BiggerTown, timing everything perfectly so we could go to all the shops early and still be back home around lunchtime. Our first shop was the antique shop, where I picked up a weird little ceramic box. The thrift store wasn’t quite open yet by the time we left, so we went to the discount shop to kill time. Shawshank and I split into different directions, but met up and left with a couple of things on our list. There was a detour trip to the pharmacy to pick up some first aid stuff for Shawshank‘s dad, then we went out to the thrift store. I didn’t find anything in the clothing racks, but I scored in the housewares. I snagged a bunch of fabric for $11, all in the form of kids’ bedding. I am going to have so many ridiculous genie pants.

We stopped at Subway on the way out of Slightly BiggerTown, made a quick stop at Shady Acres, and came home. I started tearing apart fabric pretty much right after eating. Shawshank‘s mom gave me a brand new flannel fitted sheet for the kimono’s lining. I spent 15 minutes very carefully cutting the elastic binding out of it. Judging by my totally basic calculations, I should be able to make at least three pairs of genie pants with what I’ve got on hand. I’ve got lining pieces cut for and pinned onto the kimono, I’m just trying to figure out the most efficient way to assemble everything. I made things a lot more difficult than they needed to be.

I’ll be busy today.
